Königsleiten lies between the beautiful Zillertal and Pinzgautal and it borders to the National Park Hohe Tauern.
Königsleiten is a lovely village, which exists out of several Hotels, restaurants, apartments and a large number of private chalets. It is surrounded by forests and in the centre of the village there is the beginners slope. The lift on this slope will bring you to the other 53 lifts in the area. Since a few years the Zillertal Arena is also connected with Krimml. In Krimml there are slopes who are perfectly suited for beginners and more experienced skiers and snowboarders.
Königsleiten is located at 1600 m and is therefore really a snow winters and pleasant mountain village. You can almost always skiing back to the front door of our chalets. In Königsleiten is après- ski, a supermarket and there is plenty to do. There is no road through Königsleiten, and the practice area is centrally located in the village. Surrounded by forest, a number of hotels with sauna, restaurants, apartments and private chalets in Austrian style makes it all into a unique, friendly and car-free village. In 2011, a new gondola did come to bring you into a time on the top of Königsleiten.
Königsleiten offers a large and varied ski area. The skiing around the resort comprises 166 km of ski runs: 40 km blue, 115 km red and black 11 km. For several years Krimml is connected to the Zillertal Arena. This area has many beautiful wide slopes. For beginners and experts this is an asset!
The lift of the practice area leaves you in the street you just have to cross to the new gondola (2010/2011) that brings you in 8 minutes to the 53 elevators of the big Zillertal Arena ski area with 166 km of descents. Königsleiten is part of the ski Oberpinzgau, located in the Salzburg region. The ski area of Königsleiten is connected to the Zillertal Arena, including the popular ski resort Gerlos. Cross-country skiers have less choice in Königsleiten. At the resort lies a trail about seven kilometers. For more fun skiing you can go to the other ski resorts in Oberpinzgau. These are Krimml, Mittersill and Uttendorf. These ski resorts are well interconnected by a free ski bus. Other winter sports to practice in and around Königsleiten are tobogganing, winter hiking and of course snowboarding.
From the chalet it is fun to wander through the village and the forest. There is plenty of opportunity to drink something on the sunny restaurant terraces overlooking the white mountains. On a clear evening you can visit the observatory at Sterngucker hotel in the village.
Also après-ski activities are in Königsleiten. All the shopping you can do in the local grocery store within walking distance of Königsleiten. Even a sandwich service is available where you can make your order.
A stay in Königsleiten is ideal for groups of all ages and for families with children of all ages, and grandparents.
